Sneak peak of a project in the works!
This piece is inspired by the engineered natural beauty of the Meade Wildlife Area—a vital habitat for ducks and other waterfowl that exists in a delicate balance between nature and human intervention. The gabion body, filled with rubber ducks, reflects engineered structures used to shape the landscape. Its bright yellow color echoes the large construction vehicles that maintain these spaces. This hybrid form—a decoy, a gabion, a sculpture—asks us to consider what is natural, what is artificial, and how closely the two have become intertwined in the landscapes we percieve to be wild.
