the Fieldscape Fellowship

The Fieldscape Fellowship is a field-school program within the Fuller Initiative for Productive Landscapes in the University of Oregon’s Department of Landscape Architecture. During the 2024–2025 fellowship, I helped lead a cohort of students in the collective design and fabrication of a site-specific landscape installation developed across two intensive workshops. I served as a design lead for the project, focusing on woodworking and timber-frame craft, working in close collaboration with David Buckley Borden and fabric lead Nancy Silvers.

The first maker-based practicum, held in summer 2024, emphasized design research, conceptual development, shop-based skill building, and proof-of-concept fabrication, culminating in an exhibition at Lawrence Hall at the University of Oregon. The second phase, conducted in summer 2025, transitioned into a full design-build process, resulting in the installation’s construction at Fuller’s Overlook Farm near Scranton, Pennsylvania.
